Frequently Asked Questions

Answers about sharing, local drafts, privacy boundaries, and what to check when something does not work as expected.

What do you want to check first?

Start with one of these common areas.

How sharing works

Understand share codes, links, QR codes, expiry, and file limits.

Local drafts and storage

Know what stays in your browser and why drafts do not follow you to another device.

Troubleshooting

Shared content is available for 10 minutes. After that, the share code, QR code, and share link stop working.
No. ClipShare works without sign-up or login. Open the page, add content, and share it immediately.
ClipShare supports text, images, screenshots, and small files. Images over 1MB are compressed automatically. Non-image files can be up to 5MB.
If both devices are nearby, the QR code is usually fastest. If they are not, send the share code or link through any chat, email, or note app.
Yes. If you delete a shared item manually, its share code and link stop working immediately.
Snap is a one-time self-destruct link for short-lived text. It is designed for a single reveal, a limited reading window after opening, and no recovery after destruction.
Yes. A Snap link expires automatically 10 minutes after creation, even if nobody clicks or opens it.
No. After a successful reveal, closing the page, ending the viewing timer, or trying to open it again will not restore the original content.
Use Snap only for temporary and replaceable information, such as one-time passwords or short-lived private notes. Do not use it for seed phrases, master credentials, or irreplaceable keys.
Unshared drafts stay in your current browser only. They are stored locally and are not uploaded automatically just because you pasted or saved content.
Local drafts are browser-specific and device-specific. They do not sync across devices, browsers, or browser profiles unless you actively create a share.
That depends on your browser storage limits, which are commonly around 5 to 10 MB per site. Text drafts fit easily; images and files take more space.
If you clear site data, cookies, or local storage for ClipShare, your local drafts are removed from that browser permanently.
Only people who have the active share code, share link, or QR access path can open shared content. Unshared drafts are not visible to other people.
No. Your content is not used for unrelated analysis or marketing. Shared content is processed only to complete the share action you requested.
It is better to avoid highly sensitive data such as passwords, private keys, full identity documents, or banking details. Use a more secure channel for those.
A draft stays only in your browser until you delete it or clear data. A shared item becomes temporarily accessible through a code, link, or QR path and expires after 10 minutes.
The most common reasons are: it expired after 10 minutes, the item was deleted manually, or the code was typed incorrectly.
The file may be too large, unsupported by the browser, or affected by clipboard restrictions. Try a smaller file, a direct file selection, or a fresh browser tab.
Yes. Some extensions can interfere with clipboard access, uploads, dialogs, or page behavior. If you notice unexpected errors, try disabling recent extensions, using an incognito window, or opening ClipShare in a cleaner browser profile.
Images over 1MB are compressed automatically so they can transfer faster and stay within the intended size range.
First confirm the item has not expired. Then re-check the code, try the share link directly, refresh the page, or create a new share if the old one is near expiry.
