How SNAP works
If you need to send a one-time, short-lived, text-only private message, SNAP is the better fit.
Text-only by design
SNAP is only for short text messages. It does not support images, screenshots, or files.
Expires after 10 minutes
Whether anyone opens it or not, every SNAP link expires automatically 10 minutes after creation.
One reveal window
After the recipient chooses to reveal the message, there is only a 60-second reading window. Closing the page means it cannot be fetched again.
Use it for the right thing
SNAP is best for temporary passwords, one-time notes, and short-lived sensitive text. It is not appropriate for permanent credentials, seed phrases, or irreplaceable secrets.
Practical Tips
No login required
No sign-up required. Open the page and start sharing.
10-minute auto-expiry
Shared content is removed automatically after 10 minutes and may also be deleted manually sooner.
Automatic image compression
Images over 1MB are compressed automatically to keep sharing fast and lightweight.
Do not share sensitive data
Avoid passwords, verification codes, bank details, private keys, or other confidential information.
ClipShare productivity tips
These habits make ClipShare feel more like a smooth workflow tool than a one-off share page.
Copy first, then scan
After Quick Share on desktop, scan the QR code with your phone to move one-time codes, links, or meeting URLs instantly.
Use it like a temporary cross-device clipboard
It works well for short text, commands, prompts, and JSON snippets without needing to message yourself.
Prefer screenshots over files when possible
If you only need to show UI, an error, or design reference, pasting a screenshot is usually faster than exporting a file.
Clean up content before sharing
Combine fragments and add a short title or context so the receiver can use it immediately.
Common scenarios
If you are not sure when ClipShare fits best, start with these common scenarios.
Desktop ↔ phone handoff
Move links, addresses, to-dos, one-time codes, or small files between devices.
Temporary sharing in collaboration
Share copy, images, test builds, or demo links during meetings without extra setup.
Dev handoff for logs and commands
Pass error logs, terminal commands, or API samples between devices, especially during device debugging.
Best practices and limits
Knowing what it is great at—and what it is not—helps you avoid friction.
Best for temporary content, not storage
Shared items expire after 10 minutes, so this is better for immediate handoff than long-term storage.
Avoid highly sensitive data
Even with auto-expiry, use more secure channels for passwords, private keys, or highly sensitive documents.
Compress first if you are near limits
Images are compressed automatically, but other files are better compressed manually for faster uploads.
If you see odd errors, also check browser extensions
Some extensions inject scripts into pages and can interfere with clipboard access, uploads, dialogs, or other page behavior. If you see JavaScript errors, try disabling recent extensions or testing in an incognito window.
